Uncomfortable situation

posted 23rd Jan
I took my son (2yrs2months old) to a new siblings class at the hospital, there was another mom with a two year old girl. The teacher of the class asked the other mom how she fed her daughter and how shed feed her new son, she said formula. I said I just stopped nursing my son a few months ago, and I'd be nursing again. Right at that moment I felt tension, but all I did was answer the question honestly. Then the teacher praised me like five times throughout the class, and I was not responding much besides "oh thanks" but the other lady was obviously offended and gave me funny looks, and any time she said "bottle" or "formula" she emphasized and projected the word a bit, as if to have me hear it. I was nice as can be, but it was a uncomfortable. I was made to seem like a snob but I didn't do anything but answer a question, and that teacher overdid it and was in a way putting the other lady down. I hate that people form an opinion if you or think you're a stuck up person just because you made a choice that's not for anyone else but your kid. :/

i bet she probably felt put down by the instructor. since she was making a big deal about it, i bet she thought pretty highly of yourself for doing it. the immature way to respond is obviously to passive aggressively get her point across to you that she thinks bottle feeding formula is fine.
you know you weren't being high and mighty about it and just sharing information by answering a question. just let it roll off your back

Yeah, I kinda went to try to maybe make a friend with kids my kids ages, but that didn't work out. Her husband asked me how far into two he was lol, I think he was a little freaked out about someone nursing that long. But my son made a friend   him and the girl yelled in eachothers faces and cracked up about it, they were laughing so hard :p cuties
