This was my argument. They thought I was crazy for calling it a parasite.

I have always said this. Abortion can be marked as illegal, but women will still want one and try to accomplish one. It doesn't take away the desire to not have a child.

I read the original question was asking for a logical reason why someone would think abortion should be illegal, I gave that. People responded with either highly emotional or just plain rude comments, I wasn't aware that was a logical response to me or the topic.
Also someone said giving a list of facts isn't an argument, .....I was making a point by using facts to prove that what I was saying is correct, otherwise what am I suppose to do? Make up my own facts? Have a list of opinions?
The point of having facts is because no matter what your opinion is on any subject facts do not change.
Also, I'm not from Alabama just to put that out there.
Last thing, to the woman who said something about if a baby is born in Sweden its Swedish no matter what race it is, I don't even know where you got that because I never said a baby born in Sweden I said a baby born to a Swedish woman, I never said where they were located.

Your whole little piece about the Chinese fetus in a Swede was stupid as hell, and not "proof" of anything. And you've yet to comment on the fact that if it isn't "part of her body", then it is indeed A) trespassing and B) a parasite. Either way, it's own genetic code doesn't mean jack smurf in the equation.

You're right-facts don't change. Like the FACT that safe and legal abortion has PROVEN to be a necessary thing for healthier women and a better society. It's not legal because people freaking enjoy it. You don't have to like it or pretend to like it, but what goes on inside another woman's body is not your business, period. Even if it involves a pwecious widdle fetus. And, yes, it is a zygote, embryo, fetus. Your cutesy term "baby" again, means precisely jack smurf, so I'm not even sure what your point was there.

I certainly am not out trying to make laws against women under the legal drinking age having babies, even though I don't like it and think it's disgusting.

KNOW WHY? Because it isn't my smurfing business and I don't need to burn my tongue on someone else's smurf soup.

Abortions for everyone! I think for every pro-life billboard, I'd like to put up a pro-abortion billboard. Also, I think a good "Are you Pro-Life? How many adopted children do you have living with you?" would be nice. That would really grind their gears, don't you think?

The fact that abortions happen at the same rate regardless of whether or not they're legal is enough to keep me prochoice. Oh and the whole right to your body thing.

But if women are going to abort pregnancies, they might as well do them safely.

Actually, what they were doing in that case was using the current state law as it read. They might not AGREE with that law, but the law does protect the doctors from liability.
