re: Abortion arguments.

I consider stripping me of my right to a safe abortion to be a much worse offense than telling me I'm going to "Hell".

I am 34. I am married. I have 3 kids and want no more. I take precautions against that, but sometimes things happen. If I should become pregnant I should be forced to hand that baby over to someone, because I cannot mentally handle another? I should be forced to go through 9 months and just slap it over to some couple that wanted a kid SO BAD but couldn't be arsed to adopt an older or disabled kid?

No.

It's not your business to decide when and how many kids I should have, even if I'm already pregnant.

I don't sympathize with private businesses trying to foist religious beliefs over their employee's personal lives. Offering coverage for birth control is not the same as handing it out, and they could just hire people who swore to never use birth control, and would therefore have no need for BC coverage. Let them go out of business then.

You would THINK being pro life, that they would WANT women on birth control.

Not only that, but the point was that your ACTUAL BELIEF, the whole thing, is forceful.
Nobody's FORCING you to have an abortion would be the parallel there.

Because in truth, it is more about women having less control over their own reproductive processes. The Catholic Church knows that is the easiest way to keep women down, and it kills two birds with one stone since birth rate is the primary method of growth for religion.

Yep. Anytime a woman wants to take control of her sexuality it's viewed as this horrible thing. Slut/whore sterotypes that even some women still perpetuate.

I will say this. I am a Christian and so my stance is based on that. I am not going to change it, but I am not going to try and tell anyone they can't be pro-choice. I am not bashing anyone for being pro-choice, either. You are absolutely welcome to your opinions and feelings.

Well yeah, of course we are.

The fact of the matter is though, being pro-life means that if the opportunity arose, you would vote for abortion to be illegal, thus taking away my rights. I don't care if you think abortion is wrong- that is totally your prerogative- but when you try to take away MY rights, that's when I have a problem.

I have a hard time being OK with someone wanting to decide such an important aspect of my life for me.

Actually, I personally don't vote at all. So, if the vote ever came up, I wouldn't be casting a ballot.
