Am I being unreasonable?

posted 23rd Jan
I'm 35 weeks pregnant. DH and I only go out two-three times a year on a date without DD. My husband goes to his friends house a few times a week after work to watch OKC Thunder BB games or "jam" (he plays base) or just to chill and have a few beers. I'm always home (SAHM) taking care of DD, cooking, cleaning and yadda yadda. I don't get free time or alone time. I always have DD with me and I always take her with me where ever I go. I can't even take a smurf without her in there with me. I asked for one thing... I asked for one last date before DS is born. DH freaks out and says no. Money isn't even an issue. My mother in law wouldn't mind watching DD for a few hours. I'm heartbroken and sad. Is it just my hormones? Am I being unreasonable? DH does whatever he wants and I don't care. I never ask for anything in return. I just asked for one thing and I don't even get an explaination. Just "no".

I don't think you're being unreasonable. Why did you have to ask him for permission to go out if your MIL will be the one babysitting?

ETA- I misread. That's so smurffy that he doesn't want a date night. I agree with the other ladies, just go out on your own with friends.

I'd be asking why. And yes, I'd be mad about it, too. That's not cool at all.

What a tool. And if it wasn't a good one, I would justbtell him I was going out one night and leave before he could say no.

Then I would take DD to MIL's and have a nice night out.

I haven't gone out for more than an hour or so in almost six years except for one date with hubs where we were gone for two hours. my husband however goes out several times a week( he's out drinking right now). now that my youngest can go to sleep on his own I'm planning a girl's night out.

Thanks ladies. I think I'll try setting up a girls night. It's just hard to get with everyones schedules. All my friends have kids too. Lol

I asked him why and his response was, "I'm tired when I get off work and I just want to relax". I understand this completely, that's why I do all the house work and take care of errands, paying bills and taking care of DD. He also said that another reason is that we have most evenings together. Not really. He gets off work at 6. I'm cooking dinner, I clean up the kitchen, I give DD a bath, he is either playing a video game, watching something on Netflix, playing with DD, or texting/on his phone not talking to anyone. By the time it's night time for DD. I'm freaking exhausted and I got to bed shortly after. He'll stay up and play video games or whatever till 1-2am. Ugh. I just want some alone time with DH.

Doesn't seem very fair. I'd talk to him about it more extensively.

MY husband loves when I go out and have some me time. He says I'm refreshed and energized and I just feel better.
