Implanon birth control

Is it good or bad? Anyone experienced any negative side affects? Pros and cons??

I had it, loved it for like a year, hated it after that because when I stopped breastfeeding, I started bleeding constantly.

That is what I keep hearing. I'm bfing but I'm not sure for how long. I really don't want to bleed constantly. Did u just have it removed or keep it the full 3 years?

I have implanon, I am used to it now (it will be three years next year that I have had it), but I am going to get my tubes tied when I have it removed.

The cons of having it for me were:
The first three days my arm hurt where it was put in (my gp's fault)
My moods were shocking for a few months
I put on 13kg in approx 6-12 months

The pros:
My miagranes dissapeared
Not having to worry about pills everyday
No periods (not for everyone)
My skin lookes fantastic and clear
You forget that it is there you cant feel it unless you want to ( I touch it every now and then to make sure it is still there lol) It has not moved.
Its only there for three years and can be removed at any time.
I had no major side effects.

I had it removed last August, which was like a month shy of me having it for 2 years. I could not deal with the bleeding, I'm already anemic and I was bleeding (not spotting) for like 20+ days a month.

See, I did not have any weight gain, which I would have gladly took if it meant no period.

Sounds like it is just different for everyone. Guess I won't know til i try it. I'm nervous cause i have never been on any kind of bc before. But im terrified to have another baby... I definitely don't want that to happen lol.

Yeah I don't think I would have coped well with the bleeding as I am also anemic.

I have lost half the weight but I am still struggling with the rest, I am always starving even after I have had a huge meal.
I have always been very thin so it was a huge shock for me to put on all that weight .
I wonder if having no period has something to do with the weight gain and vice versa?

Well good luck, just remember if it does not suit you, you can have it removed it does take a little while to settle once you have it in so i would give it a few months before making the decision to remove it.

This. Best wishes OP. Personally, I'd try the mini pill before implanon but that's just me.
