Telling work my eggo is prego...when?

posted 23rd Jan
Just trying to get opinions from you ladies. When is the BEST time to tell work that i'm pregnant? I don't want to tell them too early, but then again, I don't want to wait too long. I am 3.5 weeks now. My first appt with my OB is Feb 27th (8w3d). I will tell my boss for sure then, when I ask off for the appt, but what about my coworkers? I work in a doctors office with a LOT of other women. In total, there are 8 doctors and a nurse for each PLUS 3-4 float nurses. This doesn't include the insurance girls, front desk girls, appt girls, etc. There are a LOT of us to say the least. I have never had to tell an employer that I was expecting. With my first, I didn't work due to complications. I know this may seem like a dumb question, but it's honestly something I'd like advice on. Please and thank you!

I'd at least wait until u see or hear your baby's Hb. Or wait until 12-14 weeks.

I say 14 weeks. I would tell your boss you have a drs appt. Not because your pregnant but just because you have an appt.

I told them at 19 weeks. However I had decided if I started to noticeably show I would tell then. I'd wait until at least 12 weeks though.

Unless its your first pregnancy, you don't get an early ultrasound.

I'd definitely wait until the second trimester.

My OB does them if you conceive while on birth control, have a history of m/c, or if you bleed/spot in the beginning.

I did. With all 3 pregnancies to date the pregnancy.........

Anyway OP, I would wait until at least 12 weeks.

My job didn't find out until I was like 7 months, and I didn't tell them, I had left to go work somewhere else only because I was scared for them to know, so they found out when I was gone, but then I wanted to go back there and they took me back.

I got ripped off! I conceived on birth control and only had the one because heart beats were consistent.

I was 17 weeks... and the only reason I told them is because my work has a lot of get together's that I couldn't attend because all it was was drinking. lol. I was running out of excuses.

It depends on your OB but if you have regular periods, most of them won't give you an early u/s because there's really no need for them to.

From what I know, that isn't typical. Your periods should "date" the pregnancy.
