c section mommies!!!

posted 23rd Jan
I have decided after a ton of research to push for the csection ((see post titled "wwyd")) anyways!!

Did you have a birth plan for your csection? What was in it? I'm terrified to have one. So what can I do to prepare? What about epidural... if I don't go that route will I have to be put to sleep?

I had a c/s twice. No birth plan. I just let things go how they were going to go. I didn't have to be put to sleep. My second one I was awake and joking with the doctors the whole time.
I have no idea how you prepare for it. I just went with it.

My 3rd child was my 1st c-sec. It was VERY unplanned.

Anyways, so they gave me the epi and probally other meds, Idk I was so upset and crying when they told I HAD to have one, so I know I got the epi but if they pumped other meds Idk. I started shaking( like when you are cold), they said that was normal. I was so shocked about the c-sec i stayed in a zone, and having a baby wasn't on my mind at all, I was just so shocked and felt like my body failed me. I was traumatized. So as they were cutting, and i didn't even know they had started till I heard a baby cry and when I heard my baby cry i was thinking damn, so they have already cut me AND my baby is out ??!!?!

But my recovery went awesome   I thought it was gonna be bad and painful afterwards but it wasn't at all. Just stay on top of your meds, even if you feel fine go on and take the next dosage, Good luck!

I had an emergency c-section, but I had already received my epidural (which wasn't bad at all) and I would definitely recommend going that route. I'm glad I was awake for the procedure! Doped up, but awake.

And the pulmonary hypertension?   How scary! I don't blame you one bit for pushing for the surgery. Good luck!

Just educate yourself on the procedure. That's what I have been doing. I've been gathering diff nurses advice and tips during my hospital stay. But there's not really a birth plan to follow. Just follow their recommendations. If u don't get the spinal yes you'd have to be out to sleep.

I had a epi with my first and my back still kills me. Not only that but it didn't work.

Thank you. I think the scariest part is not knowing if I actually have it or not. :/ ugh.

Dern. Lol. I was afraid of that. I think the grumpy dude who did it just messed it up.

What about the umbilical cord? Can they wait to cut it like they would with a vaginal birth?

Idk about that. I dont have a choice with my situation as they have to squeeze her cord blood back up and clamp her as fast as possible before she bleeds to death. So I never asked cause its not an option haha.

If they know the sore spot they might be able to find a diff dr. I'm sure you'll have a chat with anethstesia beforehand. But u could always talk to your dr and then see what they say. And then inform the anesthesiologist about it as well.

I had an epidural and i basically went with it. I was induced and needed a c-section. Walk a lot afterwards though.
