what juice can a toddler drink w/out getting a rash?

posted 7th Jun
Okay, So my daughter is very sensitive and I can only give her Soy Milk and Water to drink. I know there has to be something out there she can drink that won't give her a diaper rash. Do you have a child who is sensitive? And what do you give them to drink? I have told her pediatrition about this but they don't tell me anything

My daughter is really sensitive too... i usually just watered everything down... She used to get diaper rashes so bad they would almost bleed. But after I started giving her apple juice with half of it being just water, it helped a lot.

Well I'd say juice is a bit different from milk because casein and lactose that are found in milk are quite irritable to some people.. I'd say as long as you stay away from any juices that are made from allergy-common fruits (like strawberries, banana or mango) then she should handle it fine.. I also always dilute my kids juice so that they aren't filling up on all the sweet calories that come in juice..

thats a good idea..its not necessarily a bad thing that they cant handle juice-its not really good anyways..water and soy is awesome as long as they are getting vitamins from the foods they eat. could you just let them naw on an apple instead of apple juice or does that give them rashes also?

I think apples are pretty mild and majority of children tolorate them very well.. It's just apple juice is so darn'd sweet.. *I* can't even drink the stuff unless it's watered down.. I get this great sparkling apple table water over here called "apollinaris" and I give that to my kids full strength since it's nowhere near as sweet as juice..

The weird thing is she can eat fruit and not get rashes. I just wanted to find something more fun to drink. I do water down her juices but it still gives her a rash..Are Organic Juices different from regular juices?

could you try a juicer and make your own from fruit? that seems like it might work

That's a good idea.. I have a juicer and I can tell you, it's WONDERFUL! Fresh juice always tastes sooo much better! And with summer out now you can make all kinds of sweet melon juices and such.. Also great for throwing in a few veggies like carrots and tomatoes - to get some vitamin variety in for the kids

My 3 year old is sensitive to juices as well we just do 1/2 and 1/2 with water as well. She drinks all varieties of Juicy Juice and V8 Fusions.

I gave/give mine V8 Splash. My son has really senstivie skin so much that he cant even get salad dressing on his face without blisters. He can eat it and be fine but if it gets on his skin and you dont wash it off immediatly it blisters. V8 I think has a lot of blended fruits so maybe that why it never bothered him. Not sure exactly "why" it worked but it did.

IDK about those V8 Splash juices.. I used to give them to my kids and sure they loved them but when I found out how much sugar that crap has in it I don't buy it anymore.. I stick to 100% juice brands now and try hard to avoid food dyes.. Those damn V8 ppl had to make that stuff so delicious though, darn them!

my son is sensitive to a lot of jusices.. if given with out being diluted.(when someone other than me gives it to him) I always dilute his juice.. more like i flavor his water.. his sippy cups are always 90 -95 % water and 5-10% juice.. i dont give him much plus it makes the juice last much longer.. unless i drink it too  hope you find a solution!

What kind of juice do you give her? Maybe it's not the fruit she's allergic to, but another ingredient?

I know man they are so good lol. I dont really worry too much about the amount of sugar/fat/calories in things because its a real struggle to get my oldestdaughter to gain weight and it seems like my son never puts on any fat. I swear he is like solid muscle. Only 2 yr old I seen with a six pack   They surprisingly like regular V8 but I switch it up with the Fusion and Splash once in a while so they get plenty of fruit to. Veggies are like their fav. If they get Juicy Juice then its almost always 75% water otherwise he gets bad rashes and thats even now without diapers. Seems like the poop gets so bad that it burns on contact.
