Insurance rates going up? Thank a Liberal.

posted 23rd Jan
I'm just beyond sick about this.

As I have said in many threads, here on BG, Obamacare has screwed us, is screwing us and will screw us some more.

Back in 2009, I aquired my own policy, just to cover me. The rate was $215 a month. I have received regular increases, every six months since then and now my premium is a WHOPPING $711 a month. Not only has my rate increased, my co-pays, deductible and office visits have doubled. Some meds are no longer covered at all.

Obama and company have made sure that the average American cannot afford to pay their policy premiums. For some, these premium increases are the difference between making a car payment...or not, putting gas in your car (which is also a screw job)...or not. Putting healthy food on the table...or not. Between inflation, tax increases and insurance premium hikes, I LITERALLY have gone from having some cushion, to watching every single penny that I spend. I will not be able to stimulate the economy to buy a new car (mine's 12 years old and is currently getting repaired (to the tune of $2,500), because I annot afford a car payment. I MUST fix the one I have because $2,500 is a hellava lot cheaper than buying a new one, making payments and paying even MORE in insurance, because new cars are far more expensive to insure.

Share your insurance rate hikes with me! Misery loves company!

Here are a few articles, addressing the woes of Obamacare and every (crappy) thing that comes with it.

Don't they understand that this health care crap is just going to result in more people cheating the system to get on Medicaid?

Yup. It's a conspiracy.

Actually, darlin, the reason health care is getting more expensive, is because of the number of uninsured people who use the ER as a primary source of medical care. They can't pay their bill, so the hospital has to absorb the cost, which leads to their prices for care going up, which leads to higher bills for the insurance companies, which leads to a higher bill for you. Nice try though.

Our insurance premiums haven't gone up too much, but our co-pays have. It's $30 to see a reg doctor and $50 to see a specialist now, when it used to be $30 for the specialist and $15 for a pcp/ob

We went from paying $800 a month for a healthy family of 3, to paying $1200 a month. My co-pay for specialists has gone from $30 to $50.
I'm sure there is more, but my mind is blank at the moment. lol
I also have 3 Aflac policies which run about $80 a month.

It's just crazy because everything was the same for years... All of a sudden its more. My prenatals used to be $10 for 90 days (last year) and now are $10 for 30 days... I am thankful for insurance, but I just hate that there is such a large difference all of a sudden.

That is EXACTLY what will happen AND what they WANT to happen. Government wants to control ALL of your healthcare. It's always been "the plan".

Mine haven't gone up...   I pay 30.00 a visit and 10.00 for percriptions, I pay out of pocket,

But I have kaiser, the whole thing *Elle with 3* said sounds about right, before we leave the er, they have us pay our co pay or make definite arrangements... sooo we don't screw anyone else because the ER can't refuse to see someone

But why have people cheat the system then? Why not just require everyone to get on Medicaid?

Yep, this is a contributor and a good reason the ER should have the right to deny. Yea, I'm evil. *shrugs*
People need to make having health insurance a priority. It is as important as a roof over your head.

Our insurance rates went up like $40/month and our deductibles stayed the same. We pay $285/month for health, vision, dental for our family of 3.

Agreed. They are not designed to provide proper care in this manner.
