I wish they would have tried to make medicaid better instead of making a whole new thing that changes everything for everyone... I am all for helping people who need it. I just think it could have been tried differently before jumping to Obamacare.

Agreed. It's great in theory but it has so many flaws, it's not even funny.

No.

In Canada I have never had a lengthy wait to see my family doctor. Children get peditricians if you wish to have one, or you can see a GP. We have full prenatal care (Unlimited ultrasounds if a doctor/midwife requests them), access to a midwife and in certain cases fertility treatment (specialists and in serious cases IVF).

The only thing that I don't love is a lengthy wait in the ER,( which can be hours) but I'm not certain how long you guys wait over there

Honestly I have seen a lot of Canadians on here that give completely false information. I have no idea why, lol.

This is an opinion piece...but they use hard data in it.

I'd say that data is questionable. It said that the Rebuplican Staff Economic Commitee compiled it. They would have a very vested interested in making national health care look inferior.

Keep in mind that IF those numbers are accurate they are taking into account huge rural areas and including them with the large cities. Essentially they are saying wait times are due to OHIP when they could simply be the product of having reduced access to services because someone lives in a small out of the way town. These issues are comman and experianced by rural inhabitants in the USA as well.

I live in a smallish city and have never known anyone to have to wait more than a week for surgery.

Thanks liberals!
Thanks non-liberals who didn't get off their asses to vote for Romney!

It's only going to get worse. Sorry I'm a downer about this but it is reality.

You wont find many of our members debating on this one since many are on medicaid...and always encourage to get on medicaid everything is free for them..well yes for them but they should thank the taxpayers! My premiums go up every year while my salary goes down...I am considering finding away to get medicaid I can't afford to take care of myseld anymore my kid goes when she needs to of course but this isn't right I hate the health care and I hate the entitlement mentality..Ironically I work in health care and the most frequent fliers have medicaid!!!
