Special Needs: Caiden Update

They want to see him every Wed after school. Dr A said that he'd talk to the director of the school to see if he could come to his school some Wednesdays instead.

The clinical social worker mentioned autism a couple times but she didnt diagnose him, thankfully. I wouldnt want someone to see him for an hour and diagnose him just like that. She gave me release forms for the psychiatrist he goes to next month and to the school for his IEP and speech therapy information. They're going to have reports for the psychiatrist and they'll work as a team for him.

He'll see all three people in this practice. Although I love doctor a the best. ;) Actually i only met the third doctor for a minute.

Next week we're going to work on making a schedule for him. She said autistic do better with a schedule.

if you have a special needs child, are they on a schedule? how strict is it?

I have a child that is Autistic. A schedule and being consistant is my goal. A routine on a daily basis helps them cope with things a lot better also. Lots of therapy on a daily basis makes things a lot easier. Get daily updates from the therapist so you can continue things at home. My son is 6 now and is in 1st grade and now only receiving help with his motor skills.

Could you share what his schedule is like?

I already get daily reports from his teacher and she adds how he did that day in speech therapy.
