Child support

So I'm pretty bummed right now.
BD lives in NY, I live in PA

We had an order set in place but he voluntarily checked himself in to rehab and hasn't paid since February 2012. Almost a year now.

His arrears were at 10,200.00

We had court today to modify the amount.
The judge took 3500 off of his arrears from the original date he filed the petition
Even though he was giving them my wrong address so I never got word of it

And the amount is now set at $50 a month, which really isn't going to help me. And it's set in stone for a year. There's also a freeze on his arrears and he doesn't have to pay anything toward those for a year.

I'm upset. Just wanted to vent

Damn, that is so stupid. It seems like the better the mom is and the smurffier the dad, the more slack the gave him. I'm over the court system, it's always so dumb, and hardly ever beneficial.

I'm in the same boat, but I've taken my sons dad to court 3 different times. and we still get chump change for child support. He acts like he pays me 1 million. He'll lose our stuff and if I say, "well I can't buy a new pair of shoes everyday you have him." He'll say, "As much money as I pay you, you should be able to." I never even wanted child support, I just wanted full custody of my son.

My ex thinks the same way. He told me a few years ago, I dont understand why I give you money, he never has new clothes or new shoes on and you dont use it for food. So what do you use it on?

I might add... This is when I was taking my son 2 - 3 times a month to the doctors due to his ear infections... 20 - 30 bucks in copay.. and whatever in meds... He didnt wnat to give me another 30 bucks one time deal.... now he gives me 160 a week.

I have family in seaford. (Sp)
But there's not a lot of jobs there
