So do you and your mom have the same eating habbits? Like if I were to switch to the sleeve, it would be very similar to the band? I have considered to switch, but I dont know a lot about the sleeve. And the thought of it not being reversable terrifies me, I dont know why lol.

Me and my mom both stick to the limitations of having either surgery. And honestly, if you don't stick to the eating habits that you are supposed to incorporate, you'll put the weight back on. Your stomach can stretch back out. I have seen more success with the sleeve than with the lap band. And as far as this being an invasive surgery, yes, I guess it is, but they also do a laproscopic (sp?) surgery. I have 3 small dots around my belly button where they went in. I love that I had mine done.

I'm considering having the revision done, so its good to see success stories with the sleeve.

I'm going to look into it too. I'm so frustrated with my band right now. I feel like it takes A LOT of self discipline and will power, and honestly, if I had self discipline and will power when it comes to food, I wouldnt have needed the weight loss surgery to begin with. And I dont eat huge meals or anything, I just dont eat all of the RIGHT foods, since most of them dont fit through my band. Ugh, I'm just at a loss and frustrated when talking about it lol...Sorry for rambling!

From what I keep seeing people either do amazing on the bed or still struggle. There doesn't seem to be an in between. I still have time to decide what to get. I'm still going through the process of everything.

This is what I find too. And the success stories I see, are the ones that invest a regular exercise routine. If I did exercise on a regular basis to begin with, I wouldnt have gone through with the surgery at all. I honestly think if you can COMMIT yourself to a new routine and lifestyle, then you will be successful. Im the first to admit that I've been lazy and not 100% commited, and that is why I'm not successful at this point. But, that being said, some people are successful, and it is a very personal decision. I'm not educated enough on the sleeve to advise you on that, but the few forums I've read online, I have seen a ton of people doing the conversion from the band to the sleeve. Check out Obesityhelp dot com. Thats where I looked when I was first banded.

I didn't think I was either but apparently they lowered the weight if other factors are included
