Quick question...

posted 23rd Jan
What should I dress my 17mo. old LO in after surgery the 25th? I want her to be as comfortable as possible. She will have stitches between her belly button and chest and possibly stitches between her belly button and diaper area right in the center. We will have a 3 hour car ride home so I want her to be as comfortable as possible. I'm assuming the stitches will be covered at first, but I bought her onesies for at home so she doesn't pull at the stitches. I was thinking sweat pants with an elastic waistband and I'm not sure for a shirt...I don't want anything to pull at the stitches or anything...

Keep in mind our warmest day this week was 8 degrees.

Can you get some of those footie pj's? The ones that button? You could put a onesie on underneath it and then that on top. They make some that are pretty thick and warm, and then put blankets over her once she is in the car seat.

We have the ones that zip, but safe concept. I'll just have to put a onesie underneath it because her new 'trick' is seeing how fast she can unzip and zip back up in those things lol

Yeah, my DD does that too. That's why I was thinking the button ones and then you wouldn't have to worry about the zipper getting caught on the stitches.

I meant same, not safe. Oops! We don't have any of the button-up ones...I don't think I've ever seen them in her size, but I live in a small town with one store which is K-Mart... I might be running to Walmart out of town tomorrow morning though before we take off so I'll look there. Thanks!
