Girl name question

I love the name Vada, like from the movie My Girl.
What do you think? Is it a real name? Is it acceptable for an adult or will she have a hard time being taken seriously. I really, really love it and have for years. DH kind of likes it, but is a little worried about the nickname Darth Vada, but really there will be nicknames no matter what and it could be worse.
