Well she's about to be 4 months old so this is really late. But I've been really busy and my labor was awesome so I just wanted to share
My due date was 9/27/12. When I was 38 weeks they scheduled me for a C-section at 39 weeks because babygirl was breech. But when I went for my last u/s the Monday before she had turned so we canceled it. I am sooooo happy because i would have been so sad if i missed the opportunity to experience a vaginal delivery. For the last 8 or 9 weeks of my pregnancy i had numerous ultrasounds because my amniotic fluid levels were higher then they should have been. They continued to either stay same or fluctuate a little. I hadn't gone into labor on my own by 9/25/12 and i was not dilated at all or anything. My doctor thought it would be best if we set up an induction for the 26th. So we decided to do that.
This might be a little confusing to read, i don't remember what time anything happened so bare with me lol :
On Wednesday 9/26/12 at 6pm i checked into the hospital. I was surprised to find i was 1 cm & 80% effaced. I wasn't expecting anything to really happen that night because my dr had told me they would be placing cervidil to soften my cervix and that it would be in for 12 hours and the next morning they would start Pitocin. So after being checked in, getting my IV's and an u/s to make sure baby was still head down they placed the cervidil in. The nurses had to continusly come in and fix the moniters on my belly because baby was moving sooo much they kept coming loose lol. About 2 hours after getting there the nurse asked if i was in an pain (I wasn't) because the moniter showed i was having contractions every 3-4 min. About an hour after that i was definatly in pain. I am the biggest wuss when it comes to pain so when they offered pain meds i took them. They gave me a dose of Demerol through my IV and i was able to go to sleep for a while. Once that wore off i was awake and in pain again and trying to breathe through it, which i did for a while. They then gave me one more dose and i went back to sleep again, only to be woken up by my water breaking!... The doctor came in to check and it was my water, the cervidil had come out with it and they didn't need to put it back in. At this point i was about 3 cm. A little while later they let me know i could have an epidural if i wanted to so i went ahead and got it. I was so scared after watching people get it on a baby story (lol) but it wasn't bad at all. I did get the shakes and throw up a few times. I went back to sleep for a while after that though. At about 7am 9/27/12 my ob came on his shift at the hospital and came to check on me. He was surprised to see i was in labor and 5 cm. He said he would come back in a while to check on me. Sometime around 8-830 i felt major pressure in my butt hah. My mom was with me during labor (BD is a douche) and i asked her to please hand me a bucket. She looked at me like i was crazy and asked why? I told her i had to "catch the poop that was coming out of my butt" i SWORE i was pooping all over the place. The nurse came in and asked why i was holding a bucket to my butt and i said "to catch the poop" hah she was like sweetie you aren't pooping it's the baby coming down. In my head i thought she was just saying that because she didn't want me to be embarrassed lol..a few minuted later i ended up having my bloody show and my dr came in to check me, I was 10cm! woohoo! He said he would be back in a few minutes so the nurse and my mom helped me start doing some pushes to bring the baby down farther. At about 9-910 stupid BD showed up. My nurse was holding me right leg and my mom was holding my left and my neck. He came on my left side and starting petting my head. I yelled at him "Seriously, stop petting me moron!"
After about 45 min or so of pushing my beautiful babygirl Kenley Ann Colonna was born at 9/27/12 at 9:29am 6lbs 11oz 19 3/4 in She is the most amazing thing that's EVER happened to me, I feel so blessed<3
