ingrown toenail
posted 22nd Jan
My 5 year old has an ingrown toenail. It doesn't look infected but it's in there pretty far. Should I take her to the doctor? Or just keep soaking it and have her wear loose shoes?

I would probably take her to the doctor. It could just keep getting worse and worse. Those things are no good! My mom gets them so much and my SO as well. Hope she feels better!!

Take her in. I had in grown toe nails when I was younger but I was like 13 so my mom was able to do some things ( that's were SUPER painful ) to help that I'm not sure your daughter would allow you to do being so young. It's never fun I'd take her in so you can just get it over with.

I get them a lot too but I have a very high pain tolerance and I usually dig them out myself. We are new to the area and our clinic has certain slots available for "new patients" and will probably book like a week out. Is this worthy of an urgent care visit?

I don't think it would be urgent, unless she is in more pain than she is able to handle or if it gets infected. If they can't get you in soon, then maybe, but I would try to see a regular doctor, so you don't have to pay out the yin-yang, but totally up to you Especially if she is in pain

I'd take her in. I clipped mine and dug them out myself. They come back and I have to dig them out again. It hurts and they bleed and sometimes they get infected. Major pain in the ass, not to mention hit really hurts!
