California paternity test question
posted 22nd Jan
Is there any way to prevent a paternity test? I've had issues with my sons "dad" being involved since he was born (he's 6 months now) but we've had many more.. Issues involving him and his family recently. I don't want to get into details on here, but needless to say I don't want him having any rights whatsoever (he didn't sign the BC so at the moment he has none). If you look from the outside of he situation he looks squeaky clean, working and going to college. But unfortunately he doesn't seem to know how to act/be a dad. I want what is best for my baby boy and wen though I would love for him to have his dad involved it's not working out at all. Does anyone know if in Cali there is any way to prevent him from getting one done? He only wants one so he can have a say in where he goes pretty much.

No. If he is requesting any kind of visitation or custody, they will do a paternity test & you don't have a say in it.
Let the man be a father to that child. Working & going to college is alot better than most parents who didn't plan to have a child.

Ok. And I would live to. But like I said he LOOKS squeaky clean. There's alot of really bad stuff goin on that I don't want my son around

No. A father is a father and has every right to get a paternity test and file to be in their children's life.

He has every right to seek out paternity to a child he believes may or may not be his. The only thing you can do on your end is don't file for child support or public assistance.

No, you can't stop him. He has every right to be a parent to his child unless he does something that could be dangerous for the child.

The only thing you can do is to not file for any type of assistance or child support. However if he wants a paternity test done, he has every right to that and you can not say no.

I refused to take any chances with my judge, he already took dean away because david *said* I was using drugs... took 6 weeks to get hair follicle done and another emergency hearing which ended up costing me over 7,500. In lawyer fees, when it came back I was clean the judge didn't even look at me just said I could have him back, ordered it *imediatley* and asked my lawyer if that was it,
They are really on the fathers rights bullsmurf down here... I'm in La now, but this was in san bernadino county,
My husband now is from stockton

Omg! I just hope I don't have to deal with anything like that. I gave my son his last name because he was supposed to sign the BC, but then didn't and I didn't get a chance to change it. I wish I would have though. That's stupid though, I understand alot of dads get their kids taken away when they truly are good guys, but it's not cool when they just try and play the part to get what they want smh

Are u really in brentwood?? What court house do u use la?? Los angeles isn't as bad as san bernadino, that's huge reason why I moved I was in chino hill at that time, if we had to go back to court I wanted a diff court house, and judge, dean always had my name and I with held davids name on birth cert. Even when he went to hosp when dean was in nicu, the social worker bought the paternity papers out to him and he thre them at me lol,
The judge was still like, *oh well that was 3 years ago, people change* wtf??? He's never seen the baby ever and he gave him custody till I *cleaned up my act*
I was never more excited to take a drug test but costed 6 weeks of dean being with a stranger, it was unbelievable but happend
