Potty training a boy
posted 22nd Jan
So my son started peeing on the potty at 23 months, with very minimal accidents and only wearing a diaper at night time and nap time. For almost a month,he was doing great. He turned 2 on Thursday.
He recently decided he no longer wants to sit down to pee,he wants to stand.he will find bowls,Legos, hollow toys and pee in them. Dump the pee In the potty and come to me smiling. He just peed in a empty water bottle.
I'm at a loss on how to handle this
I've tried showing him how to pee standing up but he can't do so comfortably on his potty chair.
I've just been telling him that we pee in the potty but he'd rather not now. He also whines for diapers now.
What should I do?
How do you handle this?

Maybe give him a little break? You don't want to scare him into using the potty. Maybe get a little step stool and let him pee in the big potty?

I have been letting him wear diapers and not bringing up the potty but when he's naked he pees in things that aren't his potty

he's 2! relax! most boys don't PT until around 3. Mine didn't until 3 and a half, but ya gotta give the kid credit for being a late bloomer. One day he peed in the potty and never looked back.
he's just figuring things out in his own way. Peeing in things and dumping it is fun!

Oh I know
It doesn't bother me that he isn't potty training but he doesn't want to pee in a diaper and would rather pee in objects lol
I'm just confused bc for almost a month he was going in the potty all day long
