How I told my parents.

posted 22nd Jan
Okay so I am 19 years old and pregnant with my first baby. Telling my parents at the age of 19 that I was pregnant was the last thing I wanted to do, but I had to. I knew there was a chance they will yell ,cry, or many other emotions, just I knew you I HAD TO TELL. It was important. I was terrified, I had just had it set in my mind that my mom was gonna yell and cry. So this is what I did: I got my phone and texted her (Note: I did not text her I was pregnant! DO NOT DO THAT!) I simply asked her to come into my room because I had to tell her something. Normally when you say that to a parent that automatically suspect what you are going to say. Well I had the positive pregnancy test in a box by my bed, and I was crying and I told her to look inside. No she was not overjoyed BUT she did not yell also she did not cry, she simply told me I did needed to grow up and I that I have alot of maturing to do, but she told me to give her a while to let it sink in. So a little while after she came back into my room, she started to make a plan with me, told me she was going to call and make a doctors appointment, and that I needed to clean and make room in my bedroom for baby stuff. This doesn't mean she is happy about it or loves the situation, but she does love me. So girls I know it can be scary but just DO IT, get it out of the way. The SOONER the BETTER. Also make sure you tell your parents first, that will let them see that you respect them.   Well that is my story.

My mom was excited to be a Grandma. I told her over the phone. She was there in the OR when he was born and was sad when we moved out. I'm sure as time progresses, she will be more and more excited.

4 months after my 18th bday I found out I was pregnant. Well I wound up calling and telling everyone and stuff since I did live on my own and everything, I was a bit happier about it. Then welllll I told my mom, and I was kind of afraid she might be upset, and she just said "Well Tabi, I guess I'm going to have another grandbaby then". Now she wasn't like excited, nor mad or anything else, but now she is pretty excited and talks to my belly every time I see her. I am glad your situation went well. I would like to say your right though telling your parents first does help out in the sense of respect

I was 16 when I told my mom I was pregnant. I was about 6 weeks pregnant and had already been to the doctors. I just handed her the papers from the doctor and she freaked out screaming crying and cussing. She got over it pretty fast and was very supportive through my pregnancy.

I was 19... everyone had the tummy bug for like a week here and it was coming out both ends for everyone but me.. I was just puking. my mom looked at me told me I was pregnant and got me a test.. I freaked out I just got out of an abusive relationship and battled a nervous break down.... my mom's response " I prayed and prayed God would give you meaning to love life again.. but I didn't expect him to answer it with a baby“

6 years later my daughter is the Apple of their eye and they are happy and waiting for their grandson to come

parents most time will be upset when they first learn they dream o their kidnapping to college and getting married but most times they do come around
