PPD: Meds, EBF & Medicaid.

Does anyone know of anything that can be prescribed for PPD that is safe while breastfeeding & that medicaid pays for? I honestly don't want to be put on anything, but I am definitely not myself lately. SO & I decided it would be best. My 6 week PP appointment is tomorrow, I will ask him about it. But I wanted to find out here if there was anything that you all know of. TIA!

I heard Zoloft. I was on it for PPD and I have Medicaid. I'm not 100% about safety while BFing though because I wasn't.

I didn't take a prescrption meds, I opted to do natural remedies and took Sam-E and fish oil daily for about 6mos. It really helped me. However, I paid out of pocket for all the supplements and Sam-E is pretty pricey if you're on a budget (about $40-$50 every 2 wks). I didn't want to take a script while EBF.

I'm not on Medicaid, but I took Effexor XR for a short time while EBF for my PPD.
