Baking boxed mac&cheese?

posted 22nd Jan
First off, shut up, I feel stupid, don't make fun of me

If I make mac&cheese (the crappy powder cheese kind), can I then transfer it to a baking pan, add some slices of cheese on top and bread crumbs, bake it, and have it come out tasting good?

I don't eat cheese so I wont be testing it first and I don't wanna make it and feed it to DH and he kids, if it's gonna be nasty!

I personally wouldnt throw sliced cheese on top. Either shredded cheddar or jack something like that and the some bread crumbs.

I don't have any of that lol. I may just do what the person above said, and melt the cheese in with it?

Honestly in my head its making me gag thinking about it that way. I would serve it just plain before adding sliced cheese to it.

If just serve it to them the way it comes out when it's cooked the first time. If kids like cheese and macaroni, they'll eat it no matter what state it's in

WELL, I did it anyway, but I missed some of the advice.

If anyone was wondering,
I did it with the powder, added everything like normal. Then added 2 slices of cheese in and a bit more milk. Then put it in the pan, put bread crumbs on top, and drizzled a bit of melted butter brfore baking. It was a hit

Also, I wasn't worried about the kids liking it, they're like garbage disposals   I wanted DH to like it.

I shred about a cup into mine iwth milk anyway. I would do that and then transfer it to the baking pan. No slices.. and homemade mac is super easy.
