My friend's daughter is in Gr. 5, and her school discontinued lice checks because it was singling out students and the parents of those students threatened to sue for discrimination because they were "poor".

That's crazy. Well the school should at least send home a note stating there has been an outbreak and they should check their child's hair.

They do, but they no longer send out a letter to the rest of the class saying that a child in that class has lice.

When my brother and I were younger my mom used Mayo and Olive oil (Not at the same time). Sounds nasty but it worked!

DD had it like a year ago. It came back 3 times because my sis-in-law kept getting it and MIL wasn't telling us. (I found out like a month later  ) I bought a thick conditioner with coconut oil and left it in her hair for like 10 mins and then brushed it out and took out as much as I could. Then I bought her a coconut shampoo and use that every shower and she hasn't had them since. The coconut oil is supposed to kill them.

my friend swears by coconut shampoo/conditioner, with coconut oil in her DD's hair. she said her DD has stopped getting it since switching to all the coconut products.
i'm so thankful DD hasn't gotten lice. *knocks on wood* lol
