when do you know its time to call it quits?

I just need someone to talk to


I love my SO very much but I've been feeling like we spend way more time annoying eachother then getting along. I feel like we both feel the same but don't want to be the one to call it quits. I feel like we just don't connect like we used to but I cant picture myself with anyone else. I feel like he isn't motivated in life any more and that bothers me I try to talk to him about things but its like he doesn't care so im better off talking to a wall. We have a 1year old together I guess I don't want to give up on our family but its like I literally do everything in this relationship and with our son so I know not much would change if he's there or not. Idk what to do he used to be my bestfriend now things aren't the same I know he isn't cheating on me. Ever since our son came I feel like I grew up and he's still in the same mind set as before. So i'm guessing I should call it quits its been 3years we've been dating and we had been close for 2years before that. I simply miss the way things used to be and i'm tired of living in the past good memories.

Some advice Im being given right now is to do counseling if you want to make things work. If that still doesnt fix things, then I would call it quits after that.

Have you been totally open and honest with him about your feelings?

does your husband atleast work? Everytime my SO gets a job someone pisses him off and he leaves it then it takes a few months to get him to find another one then its the same issue. Im so frustrated because I feel like I cant depend on him any more and all I want is to move out of my mothers house with him not working it feels like it will never happen I work fulltime go to school and take care of the baby so I have no time to get another job believe me if I could I would. LO and I live at my moms house and he goes back n forth from his friends house and his mother house. Like I'm physically mentally and emotionally overwhelmed and tired of feeling like he isn't listening to what I need from him.

yes he knows I've been feeling this way and he says he loves me if I leave him it would hurt him but he'd survive and that's the same way I feel as well. last week he told me he's surprised I haven't left him yet because he knows he hasn't been doing his part. I honestly love him but I feel like deep down he doesn't want to change he tells me he will because he thinks that's what I want to hear but he doesn't want to. He grew up in the streets and its like he tells me that's who he is. idk what to do I feel like I've run into a bricked wall...

I always told him I wasn't into the whole taking a break thing its either we are together or we aren't kwim? I just don't want to mention a break and then have him throw that in my face lol but I will deff consider this...thanx

I agree with this. If you've been honest with him and he obviously doesn't want to change, a break just might be for the best. He needs to decide what he wants, it sounds like.

I get you that deff does make sense because I deff know I want my family together
he claims to want the same maybe if I give him his space he will prove it and do something about it

sounds like you both need to to yourselves, maybe separate for a little bit. if nothing is done about it and you guys do stay together it will probably just get worse

that's what im afraid of I don't want to be in this same predicament 2 years from now I love him very much but I love my son more and that wouldn't be fair to him either

He does work, however he is only bringing in about 160 every 2 weeks. Im the "breadwinnger" right now. This is his 2nd job in about 5 years. The last one lasted less than 6 months & he has only had this one since Oct. He didnt have one till I flipped and told him we were going to be divoring if he didnt step up and fast.

that's how mine ends up getting his jobs I flip and then poof a job pops up I feel like I shouldn't have to force him to get a job when I have to force myself to get up everyday to be a parent a student and work lol its like im super mom compared to him its so annoying! Idk how to have patience when it comes to the job topic I cant afford to move into an apartment and LO living with my younger brother isn't the safest and best environment for LO and SO knows this and still does nothing
