membrane sweep?

Hi ladies had an appointment with my doctor today he said he will try a membrane sweep on Monday's appointment.i will be 39+5 then. Anybody have any experience or did it work for ye.seriously uncomfortable now. Can't wait to meet my little lady.:-)

I had it done twice and it didn't work for me  . My EDD was Sept. 13th. Once 3 days before my due date and again a week later. I ended up being induced on the 18th of September and didn't have him until 12:12 am on the 19th. Good luck to you!

It worked all 3 times for me and it didnt hurt at all I went into labor the next day with 2 of them and the same day with my first. But it only works if your body is ready.

I had mine at 39+3 it worked straight away had LO 17 hour later. Good luck, it was very uncomfortable but not too bad

I also just posted about this! I had mine swept this morning! I hve been having cramps nd had a bloody show type thing round 5pm with some more cramps! he most uncomphy I have been so far and kind of hoping it gets worse and works!

I had 24 hrs of labor contractions every 3 min but they never progressed! just very un comphy

I had it done at my last appoitmet My dr said that the likely hood of it working on a first time mommy is less. This is my first and my apt was almost a week ago and the sweeping did not work, The way my dr explained it is that sweeping the membranes almost disconects certain things that can start labor. but it ca also give very bad cramping and effect sleeping. Which i dont sleep to good being almost 40 weeks preg ayways lol! It isvery uncomfortable when they sweep the membranes just so you know.
