Someone put my mind at ease..

My 17 month old is having surgery early morning Friday. Now that it's only 3 days away I'm so much more nervous. She was diagnosed with an epigastric hernia a couple weeks ago and then we found out a couple days ago that she has 3 hernias. They are all in a line - one starts halfway between her belly button and chest right in the center of her body, then the next one is exactly 3 inches under that (belly button), then the next one is 2-3 inches lower right in the center of the top of her diaper. They're all in a straight line, so I'm worried it's all one big problem instead of three little problems (paranoid, I know).... I was just wondering if anyone knows of ANYONE who has had hernia surgery? Or do you know how long it takes to repair one hernia? I'm really nervous because her oxygen is sitting around 90% the last couple weeks because of her asthma acting up...

My daughter had an umbilcal hernia repair in September. It took like 10minutes. It was real quick, hers was small though. I was a nervous wreck though. I'm sure she will do just fine

Her epigastric hernia is a quarter size bulge which they said is big for her age and such. It's getting bigger really fast. Not sure how big the other two are. They told me 45-60 minutes though? Weird. Hopefully it only takes 10 minutes!

It may take that long because she has 3 of them. The longest wait for us was waiting for her to wake up and be taken to recovery.

They told us that when we only knew about the one hernia. She's been sedated before for a bronchoscopy and was awake before they could even come to get us out of the waiting room. So hopefully it'll be the same this time around. That's the scariest part in my opinion!

Oh wow that is nerve racking! Just pray and I will pray for you too, may Jesus be with her and deliver a speedy recovery! In Jesus Christ's name she will be just fine!
