It's not selfish to want time that isn't kid related. That makes perfect sense. It just sounded like you weren't really sure this is what you wanted to do in the first post and that your hubby was the one sticking to the no kids rule. If you're both ok with it though, I hope you have a speedy recovery.

You should have seen him the day of my D&C... he was so chipper and cheerful and even DH was like... he's a cocky son of a bitch.

Thank you. He says he's okay with whatever I decide... but IMO, me having thoughts like "I hope the condom breaks" or "I hope we have another oopsie pregnancy", is not healthy for our marriage whatsoever. and I think that if I don't do something permanent, then I may continue to have those thoughts, and if it isn't right for our family or it's not what DH wants, then it's not healthy at all.

I think the laws vary by state, but where I live I am pretty sure that you go for a consultation, then you have to wait 30 days before the procedure. A friend of mine had this done last year and she was really angry about being forced to wait. And she's almost 40.

The laws in my state are funny though. Our Attorney General is really pro-life and makes everything tough for normal women just trying to live their lives.

I was too, as a teenager. Then I realized how impossibly arrogant it was.  

My ob is real fussy about the whole thing. If i wanted to get snipped, i needed to be 35, have 3 kids, not have had any miscarriages or losses within the past year, or it had to be dangerous for me to have babies.
