My baby won't sleep....help :(
posted 22nd Jan
The last week he won't sleep longer that 15-45min at a time during the night.
I've tried...
-bath before bed
-keeping him awake most of the day
-putting him in his swing, carseat, pack n play, crib, and in my arms to sleep -warm bottle with rice cereal (suggested by dr for reflux)
-vibrations and music/white noise
-gas drops, gripe water, peppermint, and new formula
NOTHING works. Help!

do you make sure his arms are tied down? with my son that was the problem. I tried everything but he wanted his arms tucked in. so I did it and it worked. he couldn't move them around and wake himself up. sounds so stupid but its common for some babies

I've tried that too but he hates it.

How old?
DD refused to sleep more than a half an hour from like... 8 months to 14 months. Nothing worked except time. And, yes, it was incredibly frustrating and exhausting. <3

the keeping him awake is actually counterintuitive. The more you keep them awake the harder it is for them to fall asleep cause they're over tired. Try having a constant routine every day. Also, try maybe feeding a bit before you put him down.

He's 7 weeks old. He did ok (woke up every 2-3hrs) until this last week. I don't know what the heck happened. I go back to work in 6 days and am dreading it. I'm going to be a zombie.

I shouldn't say I keep him awake....I wake him up an hr earlier with each nap. And he eats a warm bottle right after his bath which is right before bed.We have a good routine. This is my 4th so I know how important that is. Lol

I hope so! My other kids growth spurt only lasted 2 or 3 days,he's 7 days now, hopefully his is just lasting longer than normal.

Does LO sleep on his back? Side? Tummy? I found that with my LO he slept way better on his tummy. All my babies have been tummy sleepers. They would just startle themselves awake otherwise.

actually a normal growth spurt can last up to 7 days or more depending on the baby of course.

also, try to not him awake for more then 2 hours if possible. After about 2 hours try putting him to sleep.

somethings that work for me because my baby fights his sleep till the end lol
i hold him so his stomach is resting on mine and his right arm is kinda danging (sounds bad) so hes literally on me if that makes sense, i give him a pacifer and rock the crap out of him lol
or also i lay back in my recliner and have him on my chest, take my hands and put them under his butt and gently bounce him up and down, works like a charm
those are the only things i can really think of
I know everyone says not to lay them on their tummys but id suggest that because its worked for my son when hes gassy and/or refuses to sleep, with a pacifer
