does this sound like gallstones??

i suffer with really bad pain through my stomach to my back and had to get paramedics out because i couldnt breathe, he couldnt tell me what was wrong so i went to doctors yesterday.he said its either gastroenteritis or gallstones and also i get shooting pains through my stomach which hurt like a bitch! and are always in the same place.... usually get these when i have eaten??

Sounds like gallstones to me. Especially since it's after you eat. My mom had them pretty bad, and it would always hurt after she ate. She had it taken out and has felt 100% better since.

I want to say my mom had an ultrasound, but I'm not sure since it was nearly ten years ago lol. I'm sure there are a few ways they do it. Nothing too scary or stressful though, I'm sure  

My mum had an X-ray for hers but that was like 26 years ago! I think they use ultrasound for things like that now  

I have gallstones and omg it hurts....are you sick? I have pain in my shoulder blades, ribs and its hard to breath...you may find keepin awritten log of what you eat and you may find you discover certain foods set it off ...with me its fatty foods ...hope you get well soon

They couldnt get a proper say that mine were gallstones till after I had my baby. That was 10 yrs ago.
My gallstone attacks were after or if I waited too long to eat and were always accompianed by extreme vomitting and nasty heart burn. I had 4 stones and two were bigger then golf balls, lol

It took till my dd was 8 months old before they did the surgery on me   it was horrible. lol

the doctor has ordered a ultrasound to see what it is and yes i dont eat regularly maybe 1-2 meals a day and hurts like hell when i finally do eat.... at times has me in agony DS is 3 months old so i was hoping that there was a solution that wouldnt be too bad and wouldnt cause me to be in hospital for more than overnight as SO cant take any days off work and my mom lives a few miles away so she cant look after DS

Gallstone removal is and in and out process. 10 yrs ago when I had mine done, I was at the hospital a total of 3 hrs. And sent home.

Yep Yep.
I just had my gallbladder removed last monday because of gallstones   That pain is the worst! If you have to have the surgery it's no biggie. It's outpatient.
