Letting my 3 year old decide, bday question
posted 21st Jan
So my son just turned 3 on Saturday. I normally plan a few minths ahead for his bday party, but the past few months have been hectic,my father in law passed away unexpectedly last month, I got a new job, just a lot of stress happening so we postponed the party planning and were going to do something for him next month. He was into the planning, a Snoopy theme but has been asking me to take him to Disneyland lately because of a ton of commercials and things in the mail to renew our annual passes that we had a year ago. We really cant afford both things, so I asked him if he'd rather have the party or get passes to Disney and he says Disney. On his actual bday we had cake with my sister and law, mother in law and his cousins and we went to celebrate at a park just had a picnic so its not like we didnt celebrate. I guess im just worried about people who we mentioned, family, about having a party, like what they would say. I know them and they get pissed off about last minute changes etc. thoughts on letting my son.pick disney passes over a big party?

Go.with the passes. I don't know about you but Im usually so.busy at my kids parties I don't get to spend much time with them. This way you will be all his and you can enjoy together.

And if your family and friends don't understand the change in plans who cares. Life happens.

I think that if he wants to go to Disney instead then by all means, take him! It's his birthday, not theirs and he's your child, not theirs. If it's really that huge of a deal to them, then they can throw him a party when you get back home from Disney

Yeah I thought that would be cool, I just dont want everyone getting their panties in a bunch. I just got a new job that gives me some extra spending money, so I figured why not. Its the only real big thing I would ever really spend for a while.

Like someone else said if they want a party so bad tell them to pay for it There is nothing like Disney. Make sure you get him an "its my birthday button" and have a blast.

i'd do passes. buy them before he turns 3, that way the entire year he will be free. also - if you don't do seasonal passes they are having 3 days for $115 right now. he is free, you just pay for yourself.
