But in the same sense why force your kid on someone else when you clearly know they don't have the same parenting style?

It I had a friend who parented way opposite the way I did then I wouldn't leave my kid in their care at all! That's the thing..she knew he parented completely different so why even put your kid in that situation.

Wait to smoke your cig till your kids asleep it's not a difficult concept.

I am not a teen mom know it all - I am very educated and I do not push my parenting techniques on others and do not feel that my way is the best way or that others are wrong. I am not going to judge the situation because I wasn't there. At the age of 15 months her child is likely experiencing separation anxiety and that is where a lot of the crying came from.
I understand where she is coming from because I do not agree with leaving my kids in a room by themselves if they are crying. That is mean imo and something I would never have done or allowed for my kids.

I see what your saying...but it was only ten minutes and maybe I misread but I thought she told the dide to come get her if he needed anything?


If I smoked I would've waited personally but meh....doubt she will do it again.

The kid wasn't beaten no but he made him cry and didn't care

Yeah but I can also see why her friend did it. With all the crap she posts I would have done the same trying to give her a break but then she flipped and I don't blame the friend for saying what he did. She should have said hey thanks for trying to help but next time can you just come get me. No she jut flipped on him.

And she acts like her son will be forever damaged because he cried for ten minutes. Me personally, I would think he would be more damaged by never learning mommy can leave but will come back but that's just me.

I don't practice CIO and never will...my son has never slept in a crib. He is pretty independent and plays a fair amount by himself regardless. If someone he isn't really close with picked him up, stuck him in a strange crib, and left him alone in a strange room...he would most definitely be extremely upset and confused.

I feel like you are completely missing the point and just have an issue with the fact that she doesn't have her son sleep in a crib.
But meh agree to disagree I suppose

Actually no. My 4 year old still sleeps in bed with me. Her co-sleeping and not CIO is not the issue. The issue is that she acts like its the end of the world cause her kid was "extremely scared" ok how is this guy a stranger if its someone they spend time with before(she said that) and obviously isn't a stranger if she "trusted" him?

The fact is he is not going to die. And I think it's silly to be so upset because your kid cried for ten minutes. If she clearly knew her son would freak out without her then when present a situation for him to be without her? She shouldn't have left him if she knew he would react like that. It's her blame she left her son not her friends. Yeah her friend could have got her when her son looked for her but at leat acknowledge that the friend was probably just bein helpful and giving her a break for a minute.

I didnt say stranger I said not close with. No way would I let my friend (whom my young toddler sees every now and then) put him in a crib for the first time and CIO at that. No he knew she didnt CIO and coslept but did it anyway in spite....and what he said after was smurfed up. He didn't go about it right at all. Exactly you wouldn't have left your son.

She did and then blames it in him? That's the smurfed up part. If I didn't know for sure my friend would do exactly as I asked I wouldn't have left her alone.

Obviously we know how to make sound parenting decisions....OP only thought about herself and we cig. Simple.
