I'm not a feminist. I'm a realist. Realistically enforcing gender stereotypes only limit a child's horizons and restrict them to artificially predetermined destinies.

OP just wanted to explain the difference in gender to her son.... Pretty sure he's too young to know what feminism and equal rights are...

You don't want to paint them? Then don't. Simple as that but don't tell him it's because only girls wear nail polish. It's become quite the fashion statement for perfectly straight men to wear their nails painted. Tommy Lee, Seal, Benji and Joel from Good Charlotte... Just tell him that he's too young for nail polish. Gender doesn't need to have anything to do with it

You completely ignored the point of my statement on purpose. The spirit of what I said was that I want my children to know that they
are not confined to the rules in which what's between their legs preordaines them. that they can embrace whatever rules they chose in whatever clothes they feel most comfortable.

I think he's just trying to do what we do. He wants to shave his face and wear deodorant too. I let him (with the cover over the razor of course lol just pretend) and he wants wears my furry boots around the house lol it's adorable. I did paint his nails clear once. He got to do what mom does just without the public evidence lol

Theyre private grocery stores normally close to or on nudist resorts. Was just at a clothing optional one a few weeks ago.

you stated that gender roles confined people, then placed your daughter in stilettos and your son in a hard hat as your example against it.. which to me just fortifies the sterotype you were trying to break
