Your first labor compared to your second
posted 21st Jan
How far along were you when you had your first baby compared to your second baby?
Was your second labor quicker than your first?

1st labor- 39 weeks, 6 days. 5 hours (2 1/2 hours of labor, and 2 1/2 hours of pushing)
2nd labor- 11 days early, less than one hour with 3 pushes. (And he was a lot bigger than my first, by a pound and a half)

The labor was shorter by like half an hour.

I delivered both at 39 weeks, 5 days.
My first was an induction, 4 hrs of laboring with 30 minutes of pushing.. Second labor I went in to on my own, six hours of laboring and six pushes.

That's similar to what happened to one of my friends. Her first baby was born at almost 39 weeks, and her second was born at 41.5 weeks. Her labor was longer the second time though.

I pushed for two hours with my daughter too, it was exhausting. They had me start pushing at around 8cm, to 'practice' and told me to keep pushing with every contraction until she was born.
