Sweetie, you didn't do anything! It's common and normal. Unfortunately it can last for some time, you should seek some professional help, someone to talk to or maybe even some medication. Good Luck!!

Mine just kept getting worse until 4 months pp when I finally got help. I was on an antidepressant from then until just after she dd turned 1. I thought I could handle it on my own but I really couldn't and I need the outside help.

Have you talked to your doctor about it??

Oh mama I'm so sorry. I know what you're going through. I had PPD so bad I was almost hospitalized. I started having feelings about smothering DS, and then I was taken to a neuropsychiatric center where they gave me xanax and I was able to actually function using that until the zoloft kicked in. My therapist was AMAZING. it took 3 weeks for me to start feeling "normal" again, but I was medicated and seeing a therapist once a week.

My PPD kicked in around 4 months, too. I tried to fight it off for several weeks, but then I saw my doctor and started Celexa. It works great!

I have my good and bad days with depression. Bad more than good. I think it would help for you to see someone. You need to realize that you did nothing wrong.

I caught mine super early and got help ASAP. With everything going on I knew I was going to get it and it freaked me out. The first sign I was in the dr's office. he gave me a script for antidepressants and I took them for a month and took myself off them and am fine. DS is 3 months 10 days old.

Thanks ladies. And yes, my doctor knows. I seen a psychiatrist and I am supposed to be taking these antidepressants but I have heard so many horror stories......and I can't help but feel like it was something I did. I should have told my doctor sooner, maybe then it would have been at least somewhat under control by now

What medicine did they prescribe you?

Klonipin for anxiety when I need it, and lexapro

How long have you been on the lexapro? To be honest, none of the anti depressiants have worked on me. And they either made me feel like a zombie or made me feel worse.
