IUD's

For an IUD, is it a prescription that you pick up and take back to the doctors, or do they have them on hand?

It was a prescription.

I didn't get a prescription. My OB had one that was ordered for someone else and that person never came in and had it inserted. I got the paragard. So apparently, my OB orders them herself when a patient requests them.

OB has them in office.
