We have a big dog who is VERY protective over the house. Meh sleeps in bed with us, but always knows what's going on, even outside. He lets us know when there are coyotes and fox going after the livestock, even in the middle of the night. He actually scared away an intruder when we first moved in. Someone let themselves in my sliding glass door while it was just him and I home. He went nuts, chased the guy out and almost crashed through the door trying to get the person. We also have a gun safe in our bedroom.

We have a bunch of guns. Most are in the safe but I have one beside me when I am alone.

We have a 60 pound pitbull who would be very devastating to anyone who broke in, if Trig still doesn't stop them, we have a ruger p95 in our bedroom closet. It is in a safe, has the safety and trigger lock on but i'm sure DH could have it out and ready by the time they got passed Trig.

I have an adt home security system
If I press the panic button on my keychain in signals a loud alarm and they call. If I don't answer they send the police

We don't have a gun

We have a gun in my husband's nightstand and a dog that barks st every little noise.

We have security cameras that should deter intruders, but by chance it doesn't, we've also got 2 large dogs, 2 guns...soon to be more, one of which will be small enough for me to carry on me at all times around house or out jogging. I personally don't do pepper spray, especially not with kids/babies since it can get on you or kids; not worth the risk in my opinion.

I don't know. I wouldn't be able to. SO is trained in martial arts/self defense/disarming a person with a weapon. My brother would most likely stab someone since a knife has always been his go to weapon of choice even though he never has actually stabbed anyone. lol. I would be screwed if I was here alone. Thankfully, I never am. I hate being alone in the house at night time.

We dont own any guns, my husband has a samurai sword ( but lets face it, if the intruder had a gun my husband would be toast lol) and i have pepper spray but its on my keys by the garage door.

I can't own a dog where I live & I don't have a husband or anybody living with me to help protect myself & LO.

OP, I have multiple guns plus concealed carry. There are knives and frying pans in the kitchen that would work as well. There are multiple loose items that can be thrown and furniture to knock over if I need to buy some time to get to any of these items.

When SO is gone our dogs sleep inside. We have a rotti and Dalmatian. The rotti has been trained to attack anyone trying to hurt me or LO. The Dalmatian follows suit.

Handgun in the nightstand, a few more in the closet.

Honestly, I have nothing but hairspray and a phone to call 911.

Buy an ADT Alarm sign off of ebay and put it in your front yard.  

We have MANY guns in our home. I'm a veteran and my husband an avid hunter. All of our guns are locked downstairs in the basement except the 9mm. Its in the top dresser drawer.

If you are not trained on how to safely use a gun, please don't go out and buy one just for personal protection. Take a weapons safety course and then get one if you want one.

But some other options are taking a self defense class & buying some pepper spray. Thats where I would start.

Well I live with my sister and her bf who are both in the Air Force so there are several guns in this house. I have never used one in my life and would be very uncomfortable doing so, but my sister and her bf both have training in the use of those weapons. There's also a dog but he's a scaredy cat.

I do not feel comfortable owning a gun myself, but I would like to get a taser.
