Devastated & confused. Help/advice...
posted 21st Jan
I went to the doctor today because I had SIX positive test over the weekend of THREE DIFFERENT brands of test. The two pink dye and first two blue dyes were very light, but the last two blue dyes where very "there." Well, they did an ultrasound because I really don't "know" my last period. They couldn't see a sack or anything. Then she started looking at my ovaries and she one was fine then she started looking at my other one and said it had a "cyst" then started looking at my tube and out loud said "Uh oh," then said that she "thinks" she seen a sac in my tube. Kept looking then said she "thinks" it was just my bowel and some extra fluid. She said my uterus was "thick." She then said that it could be too early to see the baby, I could have etopic (but because of my "normal" history she doesn't "think" so), or that I've had/having an early miscarriage...(I haven't had ANY bleeding, just a little bit of "period like cramping") After she said all of that she said "If you start bleeding you know what it is." in a snarky way... She ordered blood work to check my levels and THEN did a pregnancy test that said "negative" in the office, "I" seen a light line, just like the ones I took at home had....The male doctor came in to "meet me" after that and he said we're going to check blood work, but I think they were just false positives. I replied "I had SIX BFP with THREE different brands, how could ALL of those be false?" He replied with "breastfeeding can cause that." I've NEVER once in my life heard of "breastfeeding" causing false BFP's... I have tons of pregnancy symptoms... They are supposed to call me tomorrow afternoon with the results to my blood work...She says if the levels are less than 2000 that's why we can't see the baby and I have an appointment to go in Monday at 11 as well...
I mean a four child was "planned" yet, BUT we do want another whenever it happens... DH & I were really excited about it now that it was happening... After I told DH what happened today he just looked at me and told me that "If you're not pregnant and you have an etopic or you miscarried, we are not trying for another one, period." I'm just feeling SO devastated and confused right now...
Has anyone else ever been through this and it turn out for the BETTER? How do you cope if it doesn't?

Could it have been a chemical pregnancy?

It's entirely possible that you are too early for an ultrasound. This is the reason why alot of doctors won't see someone until they are at least 8 weeks.

When she seen the cyst she said "Well, that's where the egg came from.." I thought cyst could keep you from getting pregnant, not help...?

No from what I understand every woman has a cyst if you will every month that you ovulate. For some they burst that is what causes pain and issues getting pregnant.

They sound really insensitive. It could definitely just be too early to see anything on an ultrasound. I hope everything turns out for the better. Good luck.

Could have been a chemical, I've had one before. It's usually where the egg is fertilized but fails to implant. It causes enough HCG to register a positive since todays tests are so sensitive. It could also be very early and they just can't see anything. I'm sorry they were so rude and callous with your feelings though. I hope everything works out the way you want it to. Also there's no way breastfeeding cause that many false positives.

Your probably to early. I'm surprised the ultrasound lady even said anything, usually the doc has to be the one.

I'm having some light pink spotting ...could that be from where she did the pelvic exam/pap smear?

Oh man Hoping its just too early!!!!!
When I was pregnant with DD2, there were 2 sacs, but one didnt look "right" they said. My doctor and the ultrasound tech pretty much told me to go home and wait to miscarry. Worst experience of my life and they were absolutely so careless. So, I know the feeling and Im so sorry they treated you that way!
Sometimes the sac doesnt show up on ultrasound until 6ish weeks, and Ive heard even later than that as well. Ive had mine at 5 weeks with no issues, but everyone is different.
Keep me updated!

I've dealt with anything like this before...
and especially having all night and day to worry... They call tomorrow with my level results and have a follow up Monday.
