re: D&D toddler & tv time

My kids won't watch TV for longer than half an hour at a time, so I use it only when I need to make dinner and get ready in the morning. It makes me sad she basically forces him to watch it, and for so long.

My kids have always watched TV, its on from 7am till 3am when I go to bed. Although I rarely watch it, its mostly on fir noise.

My 11 month old watches TV every morning while I get the other kids ready for school.

When we are home its on. My kids are in all kind if sports and activities but still get a couple hours a day in of TV or movies.

The living room is they toy room and TV room so lo is always in the same room with it on, but I play with her and she chills out if she watches she watches if nit oh well.

The only time I just plop her in front of it to watch I put UN her little Einsteins movie she watches the whole thing, its an HR or so is when I'm cooking or doing my school work IR helping the other kids with there school work.

Lazy. TV is/was very valuable to me, but that sounds a bit extreme.
She should put him in daycare so he gets better stimulation.

This made my jaw drop from the irony. I babysit a ridiculously! bad behaved little 7 year old girl. She has lived on and has been obsessed with spongebob since she was a toddler. I mean crazy insanely obsessed with spongebob.

TV has been my secret weapon sometimes. If I put on an episode of yo gabba gabba my son immediately focus' and plays quietly so I can get things done. That may only happen a couple times a day. The tv is always on but its not like he likes HGTV or discovery health anyway. Lol
To stick a kid in a room in front of the tube the better part of the day is lazy parenting. Poor kiddo. It wouldn't even bother me as much if she had her kid watch tv that long in a common area with her like a family room or living room, but alone in a room with a tv for entertainment & companionship? That's smurf.

We dont have a tv. The cartoons these days are so weird and worthless and ANNOYING!!!. I cant let my child (15 months) watch adult shows, so we threw our tv's away. I cant stand a quiet house either we listen to audio. My child is never glued to the tv and I am more productive. It was really hard to do, our society is sooo dependent on tv!! But im glad I finally did it.

I don't really agree with how she uses the television but we use it here too and the computer. We also have a leap pad2 and an ipod for them. Our tv is only hooked up to the ps3 for netflix, more games and dvds and all that. I use most of them daily but I don't force them too lol. We do other things too.
