I didn't say what I believed regarding education & party affiliation. You are free to state what you believe. I posted a link to research on the subject. Feel free to disagree with THEM & what their fact gathering states.

There are lots of flaws with that "research."
For example, who stops to answer exit polls? How about age and likelihood of education after high school? Current generations tend to go for further education whereas previous generations did not do so as frequently. Are previous generations less smart? Our decline in education says otherwise.
Do people get less smart/educated as they age?
I could go on. The"research" is biased and lacking.

I would say that the research is far less flawed & biased than the opening statement. All research in this type of system is flawed to varying degrees. It is certainly more reliable than a theory of : I think those looking for handouts were highly motivated to get to the polls whereas those who want change didnt get off of their asses.

I don't know who did or didn't get off their asses to vote. I haven't made any personal theories or asserted an opinion at all here. I have simply been refuting that idea that a) people who voted for Obama want handouts & b) that people that voted for Obama wanted Obama - offering the very real truth that a certain number of people hated Romney so much they voted AGAINST Romney & would have nearly regardless of whoever it was that was up on the Dem side of things.

And if I want change, Romney is not part of what I had in mind. As we all know change is not always change for the better - and IMO he is scary as hell.

Well, the media seems to have worked on you as you viewed Romney as scary.
IMO, that view plus the "freebies" from Obama brought lots of people to the polls.
Obamas marketing people set out to scare people and it worked. Thanks to them, we have a scarier short-term and mid-term future with a questionable long-range future.

Also, the chart posted by Space Cowboy MAY suggest more to substantiate my assertion about those who went to the polls and those who did not.

Funny you say that. I don't have mainstream TV. I own a television & we have netflix & movies...but that is it. I watched debates online & went to his own site to get afraid of him. I saw NOT ONE single political add during that whole election.....seriously.

His whole view on the American people....

“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what … who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims. … These are people who pay no income tax. … and so my job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

IDGAF who he thinks "those people" are - HIS job is to "worry" about ALL Americans if he wants my vote - no matter HOW beneath him he seems to think they are.

You are right that one is not from his website....

It is from his mouth though....
I don't know why he thought he needed to respond to it. It was pretty clear.

I personally wanted to see Ron Paul get the R nom, but that is a whole different story entirely...and I don't like his pro-life stance either, but most of the rest of it I can live with & I can't quote you anything off the top either on RP. I think I am just tired. Maybe you'll get more umph out of me later in the day. LOL

Quoting emerald01:" That tax breaks added trillions to the debt. It was causing a revenue short fall that was not there when he became president. "

It is impossible to prove that the tax cuts are what caused the budget deficit.

One of the taxes that was reduced under the Bush tax cuts was capital gains taxes. The amount of money that the federal government received after the tax was cut went up after the tax went into effect.

Liberals love to imagine that if the tax had remained at it's previous percentage, the same number of people would have invested that actually did invest when that number went down. It's really kind of cute how easily the liberal media is able to manipulate people who don't understand math. Or logic.

Why are you still using data from 2008 instead of 2012?

I know you probably feel all warm and tingly when you think that people who pursue higher degrees tend to vote democratic, but higher education has simply become an environment that liberals want to be in. Just there are more Republican military personnel and police officers. Does that mean republicans are tougher? Not necessarily. It's just a career choice. And the more liberal higher education becomes, the less conservatives want to be in that environment.

What? I have never said *I* was liberal.....so why you think *I'd* feel anything is beyond me. In fact I said I like Ron Paul. I wasn't saying "liberals are smarter" - I was saying they aren't all a bunch of uneducated welfare recipients...and...you didn't change my mind on that & not sure why that info should.

Did somebody say that all liberals are uneducated welfare recipients?

More people who only received a high school diploma voted for Obama than voted for Romney. I don't see you bragging about that, for some reason.
