re: Kid's Leash/Harness

I love them and so does my son! He loves wearing his lion backpack and he's extremely independent. It's a good balance between him wanting to walk on his own and me being able to keep a hand on him and make sure nobody tries to grab him.

I wanted to use one with my dd1 but my family was totally against it. She likes to run out into streets, parking lots, down this aisle or that. Dd2 is better at keeping her impulses in check so I don't need one with her. I don't look at it as leashing the kid so much as kidnapping prevention.

My mom thought it was a joke but I didn't really give a smurf what she thought, it was my daughter and her safety at stake so I did what I thought was best.

Exactly why we use ours. Good luck stealing my child from me when she's firmly attached to me.

We went to Disney and I really wished I had one! LO was 2 at the time and kept bolting from us. It was dangerous and REALLY annoying.
Fortunately, that phase didn't last long.

This cracks me up because my mom took us to Disney the first time when we were ages 6, 4 and 2 and my mom had leashes for each of us (including my 6 year old brother) and my mom always tells us how she overheard an elderly woman say "Look, that lady has those kids on bungee cords! ALL kids should be on bungee cords!"
