So finally got to put this post up! Woke up at 5.30 on the 19th of Janurary with a few cramping pains, went fot a wee (as you do) &got back into bed by this time i had bad pains going from my back carrying all the way to my stomach.. Waited an hour as didnt want to get my hopes up as i had pains the last week of my pregnancy but they always subside.. In the end my bf got up &asked about my pains &i heard the words (i reckon this is it) 6i phoned hospital &they told.me to wait an hour &see how i feel as my pains was irregular! After an hour the painswere 3-4 mins so they told me to go in.. I got to the hospital at 7.30 am &was waiting to be checked over &was told i probs would be sent home cause of irregular contractions &i wouldnt be in established labour.. So anyway the midwife eventually examined me &was 3cm dialated she was going to send me home but only when the examination finished there was alot.of blood! The doctor was called &lets just say i freaked out a little.. Doctor suggested for them to break my waters to see what colour my waters was.. So they eventually broke my waters i dont know what time as i was just trying to keep myself calm.. She struggled to break my waters but once a contraction came through she managed to break them.. I couldnt eat drink or anything had to put a gown on just incase i had to get rushed to theatre! The colour of my waters was fine &they just let my labour continue as baby was happy.. Then the contractions felt abit to much took one hit.of gas &air &it.made me throw up (i hadnt eaten anything so there wasnt much to throw up) they put me on a drip because i was getting dehydrated.. But because the gas &air made me sick i decided to agree to having pethadine.. Which didnt ease the pain at all just made me really tired &want to sleep but with contractions it was impossible, 10 mins after the pethadine i had a sudden urge to push so midwife got everything ready.. Took me about half an hour to an hour to push my beautiful girl. Out &i was relieved it was over.. I was given an injection to speed up the placenta coming out because of the ammount of blood loss.. My bf cut the cord &placenta was ready.. Then suddenly the doctor was called into the room again.. The cord was literally haging off the placenta, im lucky i even had my little! Then was told if i couldnt get the placenta out in one push i would have to go to theatre so thats twice i was told i could end up in theatre.. But i pushed as the doctor pulled on the cord &i managed to get it out.. My baby was born 19.01.2012 8 pound 11/2 oz 9 hours labour 22 inches.. After that ordeal i had to have stitches done woth local &pain killers but i didnt care because i know I was lucky to have my little girl in my arms!! She was worth every little bit of it!
Congratulations!!! Seems like some parts were tougb but you were strong and made it through! Next time you could tell them to back off and let you birth the placenta naturally that way there wont be issues.
Little daughters are wonderful, they love you with their whole heart and have such a sweet disposition!
