re: McCain Senile?

Quoting ☆twat waffle☆:“ that may be the tagline but i swear i've heard him mention what he wants to do with this country. i ... [snip!] ... debates! any idea when they start those? i can't remember when in the election process all that starts since its been so long.”

Here is the short version of how I see Obama. He makes promise after promise to every special interest group and he hasn't given any plan as to how he is going to pay for it.

If any candidate had unlimited money to promise to every group of people, they'd win in a landslide too. A huge group of Obama's following doesn't care that he wants to spend hundreds of billions of extra money because they aren't the ones who will be paying millions or billions of extra in taxes. The bottom 40% or so of wage earners pay nothing in federal taxes. I'll bet the vast majority of those people paying nothing in taxes just LOVE Obama.

If I knewnobody would pay a dime in taxes extra for Obama's plans to all be implemented, then I probably wouldn't care either. And it's not even so much MY money that I'm concerned about. I don't think it's fair to make people who have worked hard to make a good life for themselves to pay for other people's stupid decisions.

But making promises to get yourself elected is what all the politicians do. I don't see Obama's promises to special interest groups without showing a way to pay for it without screwing us all is any different from McCain's promises to keep us in Iraq until the cows come home without showing a way to pay for it without screwing us all.

The plus side for Obama is that his particular plan for fiscal irresponsibility isn't going to kill anybody, and he isn't taking any money from PACs or other such groups as a deposit on actually complying with any of those promises anyway.

All politicians lie, we just have to choose the one who lies better.

That said, McCain does have a chance unfortunately, and so I hope to god he's not senile since I know the religious voters who can't stand himbut willvote for him anyway are going to pressure him into picking that scary wacko Huckabee or some otherwise backward individual. And if McCain dies or becomes incompetent while in office we get another four years of vacation bible school.
