17th week of pregnancy, nipple question?

OK, so I'm just trying to figure out if this is a normal part of the process or what...A few days ago I noticed that my areola was visibly swollen under the nipple and was hard when I pressed it...I haven't had any leaking or anything and I am new to this so I don't know what is normal and what's not....Any feedback would be appreciated.
