Finally started bleeding

i was pregnant, and the fetus never developed a heartbeat. i was told about 3 weeks ago to give it 2 weeks and come in for a D&C last monday, but canceled due to my sons heart cath and work and such...

anyway.. i finally started bleeding on my own this weekend, and am still bleeding very heavily and its quite painful.

ive never had a misscarrige, but did have a early abortion, and assumed they would be similar, but this is much worse.

was just curious how long is "normal" for the heavy bleeding/cramping part? id assume that once the tissue past it would ease up. i really hope i dont need a D&C :/

I had a D&C, and still bled for a couple weeks. Very sorry about your m/c.

I am sorry for you loss. I have had 2 MC. One on my own I bleed very heavy and lots of very bad pain for like 12 hrs before the tissue came out. 2nd 1 had a DNC went in the morning the whole thing took about 2 hrs. Thats walking in the hospital to walking out. I did not have any pain at all and just spotted for a few days.

You usually do not need a D&C. You might be offered one if you go to the hospital, but your body is designed to take care of a miscarriage just like birth. There are always exceptions, but I'm just speaking in general. Anyway after my miscarriage (the hospital tried making me have a d&c while admitting i did not need one) i bled for about a week, like a period. It was very heavy and painful for the first two days, until everything was out. I would assume that if you are still in pain you still have some tissue your body is trying to work out.

ive been bleeding very heavy and cramping since saturday. im gonna call my doctor after work, im trying to avoid a D&C if at all possible but think i might need one since its been so long? idk :/

I had to have one bc I was 3 1/2 months but the baby was only at 4 weeks. I waited 2 more weeks and nothing started. After 3 ultra sounds in the 2 weeks and nothing changed I could not take it anymore. Knowing that I was pregnant and not getting a baby at the end. I just wanted it over with.

i completely understand that. i knew since about 4 weeks. my labs were not doubling, they let that go till 6 weeks, finally got a u/s with no HB.. and id be 11 weeks now. so its been a long time. im glad to just get it over with now.

I understand. That's why I dont judge when peoplw do have d&c, there can be ao many reasons going into it. I dont really like medical intervention if not nessessary, for me it wasn't. My miscarriage took. Week and I was done.

OP you can look into naturl ways to assist a miscarriage. I induced my period using parsley tea. Just something you could research and see if you feel comfortable with it. However if its only been two days it seems like things are ok so far.
