I never managed to quit with my first, I think I had the wrong attitude towards it, perhaps because I was young, I managed to quit for a couple of months then started again (1 or 2 a day) after that.
I felt really guilty.

Soooo...with my second when i was a little older I managed to stop as soon as i got the positive test result. Just take it one day at a time, have a drink of water every time you fancy a smoke, go for a walk, something to take your mind off it.

Thats what I did and me and my DH have been smoke free for 2 years in march!

Good luck.

I'm not of much help because I didn't stop smoking until the day I delivered my son but I was able to quit fully with no problems after smoking for 5 years.(a pack or more a day) I did so by telling myself I was not going to smoke around my baby at all.

I refuse to smoke around my daughter and if other people who smoke cant respect that then they won't need to be around her either..but its now to the point we don't smoke in the house so I think that is gonna help cut back some

I hope you suceed!

What i found helped as well was that i never had that 'last smoke' I just stopped.
Also the price here for them are extortionate! £8.00 for 20! Which is more than i get paid an hour lol. Not worth it.

damn they are expensive..the price alone would make me stop..here they are 5.70 which to me is still pretty expensive

Yep! Very. They have more than doubled in the 6 years since me and my husband got together, disgraceful but i guess if it helps a few more people quit then its all right.
But whats happening now is people are buying fake cigs from abroad which have all sorts of chemicals in, even worse than a normal legit cig.
So that cant be good for them really....

It is all about frame of mind. If you are determined to do it, then you will! When I quit I set a date and then cut back accordingly, that is until I bought a pack if cigs during my quitting and then I said this is the last pack I'm ever going to buy. That stuck and by the time I was on the last one I was like "why on earth am I even doing this to myself?!" My advice, JUST DO IT! =) It has been almost 2 years now since I quit and I am so glad I did, but I will tell you cravings still haven't completely stopped. Just something you have to get used to dealing with for a while! Good luck!
