My brother said he was married before it was official. They both wore bands and such. I don't know their reasoning why because they never gave one but I think they did it so her baby daddy would leave her alone. Could be similar reasons to your case.

Yeah. My mom mentioned that and said maybe it would be so he could claim her kids on taxes.

who will it hurt? if they want to wear rings to show their commitment more power to them

maybe they had a private wedding and plan to have a little ceremony with family and friends on that date

Maybe they had a JOP wedding and is waiting for 2014 to save up for the wedding of their dreams.
