I didn't have one for either of my older two kids. I did have one for my third, but it was only for family, and it was very small.

yup i didnt have one....i dont have alot of friends hell i only have fb and bg friends no one want to hang out with me   only my daughter

I didn't have one either. I was 18, pregnant, & scared to death. Plus, like you, I didn't really have any friends at the time that I would invite.

its been 3 years since my last pregnancy, however no baby shower..I had one with my very first one that was it. It was a nice experience, but it was kind of stressful then. So I think Im happy either way really.

I never had a shower - I did have a welcome baby party after each baby & invited all the family (not just women) and that was really nice. I am sorry you are having issues with your friendships...I am not sure your age but that is common in your early 20's. I did invite friends for the baby party, but the bulk was still relatives for sure.

I'm not getting one this time around, sister said something about throwing me one in the beginning then backed out MIL and mom both have made it perfectly clear they are not throwing me one,   oh well, I'll live! The ones I had with DD weren't that great, honestly.

And just so I'm clear, this isn't a "wahhh I'm not having a shower feel sorry for me" post, it's a "this smurfing sucks I don't have any friends anymore" post lol.

I'm 23. I just lost touch with lot of friends after highschool, and now that I'm a SAHM and I don't know ANYONE else that is, I hang out with my mom, and my daughter. That's it. I even saw a text in my SO's phone to his mom telling her that I'm basically a loser because I don't hang out with anyone, totally made me cry. It's not my choice to have no friends, just the way things are.

I didn't have a shower. Mil threw a stupid party with people I didn't know. And I hated it and do not ever consider that a baby shower.

Have no friends really, no close family. I'm on my own out here (have hubs and kids yes, but that's it)

But I don't consider myself a loser. That's called happiness.

I have plenty of friends and family, SIL offered to throw me one with my first, but I declined. I've never had one and we never needed one. We bought everything brand new on our own and had a lot of fun doing so. I think baby showers are good for first time parents or someone who needs help buying baby items. There will be plenty more days to celebrate your baby's life. No worries don't feel bad.

I understand   It sucks. I lost all my friends when I got pregnant with my first and the few decent friends i've made since having kids have either moved away or I just don't talk to anymore.

Mine with my daughter was awkward lol it was all the different sides of family, who didn't really get along or know each other, and then a couple friends, and some kids that weren't exactly on their best behavior... but at least then when I made invitations I knew people would come. This time, I'm like wow, I can't even think of anyone to invite outside of family.
