There's a teenage girl I've known her whole life who works at the local gas station, has an adorable baby bump, and nearly every time I drive or stop by there I see her outside smoking a cigarette. She can't be older than 16

You posted on a public forum. And when you ask for a specific type of response you're gonna end up with all kinds not just what you asked for. And 17 so what drop the teen mom crap. You're gonna be a mom like the rest of us. Adding teen in front usually paints a bullseye on your back and just begs for attention IMO. Smoking while pregnant is like any other parenting topic. You have pros, cons, and the research to back up each one. Ahh the beauty of information and people w an opinion and those who are very passionate one way or the other. This site brings all walks of life together but it's ultimately your choice to decide things for yourself. You don't always have to agree but posting a bitchfest about it is sure to stir the pot ever further.

 

Google some pictures of what the placenta of a smoking mother looks like.

When you become pregnant, you start doing what you can to provide for and protect that new life. Smoking isn't one of those things you continue to do.

A large chunk of the mothers on here are young mothers.

I had DD when I was 19. I generally don't go around waving that flag around.

If your age really has nothing to do with your smoking question, then there was no need to bring it up, was there? By posting this, you are ASKING to get negative replies. I know you aren't looking for judgements, but this isn't a judgement if it's proven fact. STATISTICALLY...kids who's mom smoked during pregnancy are more likely to develop asthma, breathing problems and get sick much more often than kids who's mom didn't smoke during pregnancy. That also goes for babies and kids who are around second hand smoke. Like I said, not a judgement. It's statistics. And if you don't want replies like this, then don't post about your age when you're asking another question. One has NOTHING to do with the other.

I got pregnant at 19 and had DD at 20. Not exactly a teen but not something I'm proud of.

Im 18 and I have posted a ton of stuff on here and never has anyone gave me smurf about my age nor have I ever seen anyone give another girl smurf for their age. It is always for posting something stupid... I also don't go around starting every post with "Im 18 and Im having a baby" either. Smoking while pregnant in my oppinion is stupid regardless of age and thats why I quit the moment I found out I was having a baby.

I just love how you all go straight back to smoking.. this is not what this post is about.. your comments about smoking mean nothing to me because I don't care what you guys think. anywayyy this forum is on teen parenting.. and I asked for teen parents answers.. but there probably is any on here because of you smartasses. Don't bother commenting on this post if you can't answer the question. and if you do comment about something off subject it gets no answer from me. So just an FYI for all you knowitalls

We told her to tell her provider to quit buying them. She had an excuse. and another. And another.

It's not that hard to give up that smurf IMO. I quit drinking and smoking the SECOND I found out I was pregnant. And I quit standing outside with DH like I always did.
