In Minnesota they take the take home pay of both parents and use some formula. They try to make it even/fair for both.It has seemed reasonable to me and my ex both. This law was changed a few years ago, I can't remember when. Otherwise it was just based on the father's income

child support is not something your supposed to live off of lol.

i get 800 for 3 kids, but thats what we agreed. we both make about the same, and these are the only kids he has. he also buys whatever i need him to tho, he bought formula for me yesterday, and brought ice cream and snacks for his sleep over he had with the kids last night, on top of his 200 weekly payment he gave me.

it goes based on who filed first my ex pays 75 to his second baby momma but pays nothing to his first because he signed his rights over the state is still looking for him for mine but the most ill be awarded is 25 bucks because he makes crap income.... But my SO pays 231 for 1 child...

this.... I see how it can be tho when my SO was on unemployment only getting 200 a month they still told him his support was 231. But i know where it comes from and i know he needs to pay it. Once i get my A.S. and can get a job it wont be so bad.

in his case it is. his ex wife is engaged to a PHD. they have lived together for 5 years and make easily 5x more than he does but theyre not legally married (and she blatantly said she will not marry him until their daugther is 18 because of CS)

No it wont. My ex got married right before our cs hearing because he thought I would get less than what I do now because he is married and he has 2 stepkids.

Yeah. Really misinformed. My ex thought the same thing, so he and his wife got married really quickly. And he actually thought that his marriage mattered, stepkids and that she was pregnant... When it doesnt. lol.
