why can't I break her fever?!

posted 20th Jan
My poor daughter has had a fever since yesterday, it went from 102.4 to 103.2 to 102 down to 100.2 and now it's back at 101.

Other than a fever, she's perfectly fine. Still her happy self, thankfully!

I've been switching between motrin/tylenol and she's sat in the bath last night and today.. But seriously, is there anything else I can do to help break her fever?

That's won't work, my child has an extreme phobia of socks. LOL.

It's pretty normal to have a fever for a couple of days with any sort of virus. Something you might want to consider too, my pedi doesn't recommend treating a fever at all until it hits 102 or higher because a fever is part of their immune system. Taking meds to bring the fever down when it's that low is just suppressing their body's way of fighting off whatever bug she/he has.

If they have a fever for longer than 3 to 5 days, it's time to call the pedi and find out if it's an ear infection or something else that needs antibiotics. Good luck and I hope LO feels better soon!

Yeah, I wasn't giving her medicine until it was above 102. And now, it's back up to a 102.3.
